Sometimes, when I don’t feel like playing but I want to feel the love for the game I tend to…ahem, do some stuff. Well, here goes:
1.) Watch a good movie
Personally, my top 3 are:
1.) Coach Carter
2.) Glory Road
3.) Hoosiers
Here’s a clip that I compiled…
2.) Go to YouTube and look for top 10 dunks 2001/2002/2003 and so forth
Here’s a good one…
3.) Watch a great documentary
There are so many but the best one, hands down is Hoop Dreams from 1994
4.) Read an inspirational book
One I recommend is…
Here’s a link on Amazon (not affiliated with Amazon)
5.) Start thinking of getting paid to play basketball by plaing it
Here’s a free interview that shows you some steps on how it’s done… – this is from a site in partnership with a friend of mine where we interviewed experts on this topic.
6.) Start thinking of getting paid to write about basketball
The company is SiteSell.com (not affiliated with SiteSell.com). All that is required is little bit on financial investment and your motivation.
That is how I’ve built this website. If you have any questions I’ll be more than happy to help you out with anything.
7.) Read a magazine
Ones I used to regularly get were Slam Magazine and XXL. XXL I was getting from Greece while I was there. Not sure if they print it still.
8.) Learn to spin the ball if you don’t know how
Here’s a great article on how it’s done…
9.) Get an adjustable basketball goal where you can lower it and do some crazy dunks
If you can afford, on eBay.com you can find basketball goals for $300-400
10.) Learn the crossover
It’s suuuch a good ankle braker and if you don’t know how it’s done, it’s a skill that we all can master. I happen to have written about the crossover.
So there you have it, my top 10 things. I hope you found something valuable that you can immediately take action upon.
