Predrag Stojakovic is a Serbian native and a Serbian Basketball Player. Instead of playing for the Serbian association, Stojakovic is now playing for the National Basketball Association (NBA).
Currently, Dallas Mavericks have selected him to play with them and he is rendering his services there. Peja Stojakovic has marked his career with many records and has been awarded with various honors and titles.
Peja Stojakovic was born on June 9, 1977 in Slavanska Pozega at SFR Yugoslavia. Peja was fond of sports playing from the childhood. He used to play various sports including handball, volleyball and soccer etc. Most of all, he was interested in the soccer.
He continued playing games and then he discovered that he is not made for the soccer. The way Stojakovic was attaining the height, build and cuts have given him the intuition to opt basketball playing in the life.
Since, he was a boy thus he has started dreaming of becoming a star in this field.
It was the year 1992, when Stojakovic has professionally adopted the basketball and he has played six years in his native state. Then Stojakovic has joined National Basketball Association (NBA). In the Yugoslavia, he has played with the KK Crvena Zvezda from the year 1992 to the year 1994. Then he has played with the PAOK BC from 1994-1998.
Sacramento Kings have selected him in 1996 NBA Draft when he was playing in Greece. In fact, he has started playing practically in the year 1998. From there, he has initially averaged 20.4 points per game and 5.8 rebounds per game.
In his very first season with the Sacramento Kings, he has made a break through by shooting .400 from three-point range. In 2001, he was awarded with the Most Improved Player Award. In 2006, Indiana Pacers has traded him.
In the same year, he has joined New Orleans Hornets. Stojakovic has played with them from the year 2006 to the year 2010. Then, from the year 2010 to the year 2011, Toronto Raptors have traded him to play with them. Then, in the 2011; Dallas Mavericks have selected him to play basketball for them.
In the year 1998, Stojakovic was awarded with the title, Greek League MVP. In the year 2001, Euroscar Award Winner was won by him. Stojakovic was twice given the title of Mister Europa Player of the Year in 2001 and 2002. He was also honored being an NBA Three-Point Shootout champion in the year 2002 and 2003. In the year 2002, 2003 and 2004, he was selected as an NBA All-Star. When it was 2004, Stojakovic was given the title of All-NBA Second Team.
He has been awarded with the gold medal twice and a bronze medal once in lifetime of his professional career. In 1999, when European Championships were held at France, Stojakovic has won a bronze medal. In the year 2001, when European Championships were held at Istanbul, he was declared as a gold medalist for his performance in basketball. At Indianapolis, in the FIBA World Championship of 2002, he again succeeded to achieve a gold medal.
