Although retired NBA All-Star and what some most say to be the greatest basketball player of all time, Michael Jordan has brought to this world is two strapping boys.
This review is on the youngest of the two; Marcus Jordan. Born December 24, 1990 Marcus William Jordan is the son of Michael Jordan and Juanita Jordan. Obviously the first thought that comes to people’s minds when they find out that young Marcus is the son of the great Michael Jordanis in the form of a question. That question is just how good at basketball is Marcus William Jordan?
NBA Basketball
Marcus Jordan’s basketball career started at a very young age and this makes perfect sense as by the time he was three he was able to dribble a full-sized official NBA basketball, for hours. While playing high school basketball with his older brother Jeff Jordan at Loyola Academy in Wilmette, Illinois it was then that the recruiters from all over the nation saw the promise in young Jordan’s basketball career.\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
Whitney Young High School
After a series of moves in which Marcus Jordan played for Loyola Academy as well as Whitney Young High School in Chicago for the latter part of his high school career it was the University of Central Florida that won the rights to the heir apparent Marcus Jordan.
University of Central Florida
Currently as of 2010 Michael Jordan’s son Marcus Jordan is a shooting guard on the Golden Knights basketball squad. University of Central Florida plays in Conference USA and as a sophomore Marcus Jordan, all 6’3” and 200 pounds of him, average is just over 10 points a game with 4.5 rebounds and a few assists.
The pro-basketball scouts and the pro basketball experts that rank and rate college players to the likelihood of players to be drafted into the NBA draft have given Marcus Jordan a collective thumbs-up and this is not only because of the namesake that is on the back of his jersey.
Heir Apparent?
Does it help that Marcus Jordan is a son of Michael Jordan perhaps the greatest basketball player ever to lace up his sneakers? The answer must be an unequivocal yes since almost every team in the NBA will feel obligated to give Marcus Jordan at the very least, a try-out.
Marcus and Jeffrey
What’s interesting about the development of Michael Jordan’s offspring both Marcus and Jeffrey is that these are fundamentally-sound basketball players with hints of greatness embedded in their game.
No one has any false expectations that either of the sons of Michael Jordan will be able to fill the shoes of their legendary father and there are no preconceptions or fantasies that gravity defying dunks will be coming our way with the new reign of power from the Jordan clan.
Judging a Book
What is interesting and fascinating at times is the development of the game of basketball for the young Jordan boys and just like their legendary father you cannot judge a book by its cover and certainly the varsity coach for Michael Jordan’s high school basketball team would readily agree to this analogy.
