Smith went undrafted after his senior season and August, 2010 he was signed as a free agent by Houston. He finished his school career as one of the top all-around players. He also had an experience of three-year team captain. Smith is a tireless player and routinely plays almost 40 minutes per game. As a rookie in 2006-07 he led the ACC in assists.
