Steven Michael Novak is an American native and a professional basketball player of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
Around these days he is serving San Antonio Spurs of the NBA. He is among the new basketball players who have spent nearly five to six years but his efficiency in basketball playing is touching the perfection day by day. He is commonly known as “Steve Novak” and plays in a small forward and power forward position.
Steve Novak is born on June 13, 1983 in Libertyville at Illinois. He is from a family whose members are also fond of basketball playing. His father’s name is Michael Novak and mother’s name is Jeanne Novak. Steve Novak has been trained by his father in the Brown Deer High School.
His brother (Chris) and sister (Andrea) used to play basketball in the Brown Deer High School and Michigan Tech University respectively. Novak is habitual of taking pasta and chicken before playing the games. He has been an owner of restaurant if he has not adopted basketball as his profession.
Steve has joined Brown Deer High School in Brown Deer at Wisconsin. From there, he has become proficient in basketball playing. He has started taking part in the various tournaments of the basketball.
While studying at High School, in the junior year, Steve Novak succeeded in averaging 22.2 points per game, 12.0 rebounds per game with 3.4 blocks per shot. When he has played in his senior year, Novak has averaged 20.6 points per game, 10.4 rebounds per game and 5.0 assists per game. He has performed in a stunning way and has won the title of ‘Wisconsin High School Boys Basketball Player of the Year’.
Soon afterwards, Novak was enrolled in the Marquette University and has majored in the Communication Studies from there. Novak has joined the university in 2002-03 sessions. Besides maintaining a good record in the education, Novak has invested his toil in the basketball playing. Novak has left no room in winning laurels while playing at college. He has played in the Final Four, Big East Contest and ESPN Tournament.
Steve Novak has averaged 6.7 points per game in 2002-03 season with the Marquette University. He succeeded in averaging 12.1 points per game and 4.6 rebounds per game. At that time, he has made a shot of 91.2% from the free throw line.
In following the next season, average of Novak was raised to 13.3 points per game. When it was 2005-2006, Novak has averaged 17.5 points per game and 5.9 rebounds per game. In this season Novak has won a three-point shooting in the Hinkle Field House.Then, it came the time in the middle of the year 2006 when Novak has professionally adopted the basketball playing. He has joined the National Basketball Association (NBA) in the 2006 NBA Draft on June 28 2006. Houston Rockets have drafted him on the 32nd overall pick in the second round.
Steve Novak has spent two year time period from the year 2006 to the year 2008. Then, he has joined one of the NBA Development Leagues; Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the 2007-08 season. Novak has played from the year 2008 to 2010 for the Los Angeles Clippers.
He has rendered his services for the Dallas Mavericks from the year 2010 to 2011. Again, in the year 2011; he has joined another development league of the NBA that is Reno Bighorns only for three days. San Antonio Spurs have traded him to represent them.
