His mother, Janet has graduated from Wellesley College. When Hill’s father got retirement from NFL, then they had shifted to the Reston, Virginia and settled there. From there, Grant Hill started playing basketball. He has joined South Lakes High School. He was selected in the McDonald’s All American Team in 1990.
Grant Hill is married to a singer Tamia whom he was introduced by another singer Anita Baker. They got married on July 24, 1999. They have two kids in their family; Myla Grace Hill and Lael Rose Hill.
Grant Hill has his active participation in volunteering and social working. Initially, he worked with the Blue Devils for a literacy program. Then, he took part as a co-Chairperson of Durham’s Project Graduation. They have raised a drug and alcohol-free graduation party for the students of high school level. He has also worked to provide free medical services to the poor and needy children.
It was Gill’s mother wish that he joins Georgetown University and his father wanted him to join University of North Carolina but he has preferred his own choice by joining Duke University. Fromm the year 1991 to 1994, he has played for his University. His team was named as Duke Blue Devils and he has won national titles while playing with this team.
He was also rewarded with the Henry Iba Corinthian Award being the “Nation’s Top Defensive Player of the Year” in 1993. In 1994, he received the honor of ACC Player of the Year. He was first ACC player who has averaged 1900 points, 700 rebounds, 400 assists, 200 steals and 100 blocked shots. In Grant Hill’s college career, he has won bronze medal as his U.S. Team won in 1991 Pan American games. These games were played in Cuba.
Grant Hill has started his career in National Basketball Association in 1994 and was selected by the Detroit Pistons. Further, Grant Hill has also played for Orlando Magic and Phoenix Suns. Fromm 1994 to 2000, Grant Hill has played for Detroit Pistons. From the year 2000 to 2007, he has played in Orlando Magic. Then, from 2007 to till date, Grant Hill has played basketball to represent Phoenix Suns.
