Vladimir Radmanovic is one of the best serbian players that has played in the NBA.
He was born into a serbian family of a JNA(Yugoslav People’s Army) officer from Crotia in November 19, 1980 in Trebinje , SR Bosnia and Herzegovina in the former Yugoslavia.and is listed 6’10 tall. Currently playing with the Golden State Warriors of the NBA. He also played for the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Seattle Supersonics and Charlotte Bobcats.
Before his NBA career, he played for Red Star Belgrade and KK FMP Zeleznik.
He was drafted by the Seattle Supersonics(currently the Oklahoma City Thunder) as the 12th pick of the 2001 draft of the NBA. In his first two seasons in the NBA, he is a consistent contributor though in season 2003-2004, his statistics and performance improved and had been a candidate for the NBA’s Most Improved Player averaging 12 points per game and 5.3 rebounds per game as a bench player for the Supersonics.
In the 2004-2005 season of the NBA, he was a big part of the success of the Seattle Supersonics’ bench players averaging 11.8 ppg and 4.6 rpg. He helped the Supersonics along with Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis to win their first-round playoff series against the Sacramento Kings. He was offered to a contract extension for 42 million dollars for six years but he reject it instead he signed a one-year deal and became a free agent in the next season.
He protested his frustations of being not in the first five lineup of the Supersonics so on February 14, 2006 he was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange of Chris Wilcox. As a clipper, he averaged 10.7 ppg, 5.7 rpg and 2.1 apg. with a precise 3 point shooting with 41.8%.
The Los Angeles Lakers signed Radmanovic that agreed to a full mid-level exception in 5 years on July 1, 2006. He was convinced by his friend Vlade Divac to play for the Lakers along with Kobe Bryant and Coach Phil Jackson.
He was a good addition for the lakers and has been a good player for the famous triangle offense of the Los Angeles Lakers. In the 2007-2008 NBA playoffs with the Lakers, he contributed a lot, with his scoring and rebounding ability. He was nicknamed “my favorite Martian” by Phil Jackson because he was often out of his position in the plays and taking some unnecessary three-point shots.
The Charlotte Bobcats signed Radmanovic on February 7,2009 for Adam Morrison and the high flyer Shannon Brown. He only played 32 games with the first season with Charlotte Bobcats and averaged 8.3ppg and 3.3 rpg. In his second season he only averaged 4.9 ppg and 3.6 rpg playing 8 games only.
In his last trade, the Golden State Warriors signed him and Raja Bell in exchange for Stephen Jackson and Acie Law.
