WNBA Washington Mystics
We decided to start this review about one of the most-popular teams in the all woman professional basketball league, Washington Mystics, so that you can get to know the players and the coaches as well as all the administrative and support system individuals that help this team win games in a very competitive league.
The Washington Mystics are one of the founding organizations of the WNBA that has been with the league from the very first tipoff in 1996.
ACC Reign
What’s interesting about the current roster for the Washington Mystics is that over half of the active players are from the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Duke Blue Devils happen to have the most players on the Mystics roster at three and at this is a tip of the hat to the female basketball program at this wonderful school in North Carolina.
The Atlantic Coast Conference or otherwise and more-commonly known as, the ACC, is well-represented with six of the 11 active players on the Washington Mystics roster hailing from this deeply-entrenched in the sport of female as well as male basketball, the ACC.
Good Cross-Section of USA
The other schools that make up the Washington Mystics are selected from a good portion of the entire continental United States with a player even hailing from the Scarlet Knights area of Rutgers, New York.
This makes perfect sense for the WNBA Washington Mystics as the seat of power for the political parties in the United States of America is Washington, DC and the District of Columbia always has been seen as having a good mix and a unique mix as well of players from all across the United States. This makes for good media presentation as well as great marketability and also spreads the word about the WNBA and the Mystics all across the nation.
Good Year
The 2010 season although not a championship season for the Mystics but was still seen as a success by the coaches and the players as well as the fans alike. The Mystics lost in the Eastern Conference Finals to the Atlanta Dream 2-0 and showed that there is some work to be done even after a successful season in order to reach the Championship Finals. 2010 Washington Mystics Playoff Appearance
